Vietnamese American Medical Association Scholarships
The Vietnamese American Medical Association offers several scholarships to qualified US residents who are enrolled in an accredited US medical school. The scholarship is an encouragement to help those who are pursuing a career in medicine. Listed below are scholarship opportunities being offered by VAMA.
VAMA Scholarship - The Executive Committee of the Vietnamese American Medical Association (VAMA) has established the Scholarship Program with the following objectives:
- To provide financial assistance to needy medical students.
- To foster medical students’ interest in serving the Vietnamese American community.
- To promote scholastic achievement.
- To encourage participation and leadership in the Association.
Tran Nguon Phieu, MD, Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship is intended to encourage medical students and residents to learn about health care in developing countries. The funds will support one recipient per year to travel to and complete a project in a developing country. There is no preference with regards to location as long as the country visited is an underdeveloped country.
Tung Van Dinh Memorial Scholarship - The scholarship is intended to encourage medical students and residents to learn about health care in developing countries. The funds will support one recipient per year to travel to and complete a project in a developing country. If you apply for the Tung Van Dinh, MD Memorial Travel Scholarship, you will automatically be considered for the new VAMA Travel Scholarship (amount of $2500).
